The MISSION of Southwest Symphony is to present and promote music programs of the highest artistic quality for the region's enrichment. It is our aim to promote the arts and to be a cultural resource for Southeastern New Mexico.  Our concentration on a relevant concert experience while maintaining our genre's personality has created diverse attendance in regards to age and ethnic background for our events, which SWS is quite proud of! SWS continues to be mindful of our shared heritage within the state and carefully programs to reflect it in the concerts each season. SWS is a major influence in the region's contribution to arts access and the current economy in the region. SWS also gives back to the community through the Youth Series outreach program. This music mentorship program spans a 9-year period for each student from start to finish. It is introduced in 3rd grade and continues through senior high school. The overall design is to bring a variety of youth performances and dance concepts for 3rd-5th grade students to introduce various performing arts genres. At the secondary level, targeted music workshops and master classes are offered to school choral and band departments. By our estimate, SWS has inspired over 500,000 students since the program's inception and our aim is to reach even more through the power of the performing arts!

Southwest Symphony has continued to fulfill its original vision of exceptional symphony orchestra performances and presenting the best artists from around the world that comprise our seasons each year. Each season is a fantastic blending of cultures that make their presence known though enlivened and unforgettable performances! We are also dedicated to nurturing future artists in our community and serving Lea County as an active advocate of the arts community.
Promoting the Arts as a whole is at the heart of what we do. We continue to seek new and progressive ways to introduce new and established artists to the region with the hope that you will find your new "favorite" through us! Expanding horizons, encouraging creativity, and exploring new ideas in music and art is our aim through our efforts.

As always, without you our patrons and friends, there would be little reason to perform, and we are able to present this season because of YOU! We are pleased to bring these exciting performances to you and thank you for your support of our endeavors!

See you at the Symphony!
